Amish you all...

One very determined tree... in the campground. I'm so proud of it, and it's just bursting with pride in itself!

I'm in Amish country... or at least parts of it. I have always admired the Amish, if not for the religious part of their life, for the refusal to yield to the pressures and problems of more "advanced" cities. I think it takes great courage to stand up for what you think is right, and to hold those beliefs no matter what. The fact that this culture has thrived for so very long is a testament to the hard work and strong moral system that supports them.

Plus...

there was Harrison Ford.. ;)

I still say "be careful out there among the English' whenever someone leaves...

and you must!

I'm in PA for those of you who haven't figured it out yet. In a KOA near the intersection of I-80 and I-79.

It's still beautiful. I can't say that word enough, and am certainly over using it, but it's so true... The countryside has changed. More open spaces... more people. More changing trees, but also more that have lost or are losing their leaves. This makes for a mixture of color and form, as the naked trees mark the changing ones even more.

I saw three little bambi like deer today. Young. They still had their markings. They were munching grass on the slope that is beside the freeway... you know.. where the road has been cut through. Some very long grass had grown, and they weren't going to let a few speeding cars interrupt their meal. 50 ft away there were three VERY fat wild turkeys, bulking up for Thanksgiving... I wish I could have taken a picture.

No one to visit today...

What shall I do?

The next 'stop' will be in Mass, where I will see Alucard. Some of you remember him from the earlier board postings. He and I have talked FOREVER it seems, as he is a night owl and I'm on the other side of the country, time wise. I'm hoping to see him and his saintly wife (I say that because she puts up with him!).

OH.. and for the interested of heart, the concert lasted, damply, until about 9:30 when the skies OPENED, and everyone went home.

It was nice listening, on my hilltop, away from the crowds and too much sound.

Google him..

he's cute!

Sun. Clouds. Trees. Dark. Light. Color.

Hi MizM. This is GabrielsTrumpet from the DW boards. That name and 'Gabe' were already taken so I had to sign up here as 'Strumpey'.

I'm grooving on your travel blog! Thanks for doing it.

I don't know if your travel plans permit, but the Brandywine Valley is an awesome part of PA. Do the Andrew Wyeth museum, and Winterthur, right over the border in Delaware.

Drive safe!

I just talked to MizM - she had been traveling through Amish country today. She is safe and fine, and she wanted you all to know she won't be blogging tonight, but not to worry. I believe the asshole that did that killing is dead, I hope so.
