Man on Wire....
This was a very intriguing movie about an extraordinary accomplishment. In 1974, Philippe Petit walked on a wire stretched between the Twin Towers in New York. Simply this. It wasn't simple, of course, because they had no permission and could not be 'found out' in order to do what they did.
The movie was made more poignant by the knowledge that this feat could, even if sanctioned, never ever be performed again.
Watching it was yet another tug at a memory that will never be lost or forgotten...
or accepted.
It's beautiful though, watching this lithe young man lie down on and dance on the wire (stills only, unfortunately, but the description by one of the policeman is fun to watch). More than a quarter mile above the street...
a picture taken from the ground of him lying on the wire... for TG, who thinks it wasn't wise...
Looking down...

He laid down? And he had a camera on him to take a pic looking down? Good Lord.
Yes... and danced (back and forth)... and sat on the wire and (the hard part) got back UP AGAIN...
I'm sure the foot picture was taken and then the camera was handed back to someone, and I have my questions about the color picture because of the pants... I wonder if they took him back up and took another shot... ?
although I can't imagine them letting him on that wire again...
although the pants simply might have seemed not so flared due to the wind... they are SUCH iconic pants...
and I put a picture just for you of him lying on the wire..
